I was actually going to report this as "Not relevant to WordPress" (which it isn't), but it's a really interesting article from a respected WordPress host. So funny. Might have to give this a try.

One needs to have real big marketing budgets to perform such tests. I have been trying to promote a plugin I created in Oct last year, and while I was able to generate a good deal of traffic, the counts of sales were really not impressive.

They said they didn't really convert with these tests either. We've done Twitter ads somewhat successfully, but this really makes me think a bit more about what users actually LIKE to see.

How many actual conversions did you get for the $920.26 ?

That was my thinking. I can see them getting a lot of curious, "what's this about", types of clicks. But are any of those visitors going to convert?

Then again, they've got us talking/thinking about them!
