I think we should all just give up any one who is a genuine volunteer on the WordPress project should just stop working on it for a single day. Then just maybe articles like these might start to understand the difference between the open source project and Automattic.

Good question to ask Matt would be if he would still be as involved with WordPress if there was no Automattic

Go to wordpress.org. Click the WordPress Swag link. Then click the link to the "official WordPress Swag Store". Grab an Automattic hoodie or a Jetpack shirt!! :)

I don't think there is any desire to separate WordPress and Automattic in people's minds (except for those us in the community of course). Blurred lines all over the place.

Sad but true, almost certainly the article was vetted by Automattic before publishing and they seem more then happy to see the lines blurred.
