GoDaddy Introduce New WordPress Theme Framework

github.com | Sep. 20, 2016 | 3 min read

It looks quite nice as well. They're doing things the 'WordPress way', and not hiding things in functions. Templates are still templates, and everything ties into the hooks and filters. I think I might be able to find something to learn from in here.

I'm not seeing what makes this a framework as opposed to just a parent theme. But I had no idea that GoDaddy produced any themes at all, so it's interesting to know about.

I believe it's brand new (like this week). The themes are at least supposed to end up in the .org repo. I agree that it's just a theme. See this for more: wptavern.com/godaddy-launches-new-onboarding-experience-for-wordpress-customers

Technically aren't all themes parent themes?

Either way - I think it's an interesting development, and there's a few clever elements in there.
