WP Time Capsule - Smart WordPress backups for free!

wptimecapsule.com | Nov. 3, 2016 | 1 min read

WP Time Capsule is finally out of beta, it is still free and now offers incremental backups for Dropbox, S3, and Google Drive for free. I think it is pretty interesting effort from the team behind InfiniteWP. Take a look.

This is by far the simplest backup plugin interface I've seen. So much so I think it's replaced my current recommendation of BackupBuddy.

Thanks a lot Scott. We believe backups should be really simple. I am glad we were able to achieve it.

^^ Couldnt agree more. BackupBuddy was ok, but always felt like something was missing. With WPTC, I havent had that feeling at all. Love it, and would recommend it.

Also, their support is pretty awesome. Very fast and respsponsive.

What would you say is "missing" from BackupBuddy? Just curious.

Well, we consistently had many errors with Backupbuddy on several sites. Sometimes it wouldnt work, other times a backup would fail without warning. We found many sites where backups stopped working silently and we didnt have one for months.

I also really prefer how WPTC handles the backups with only saving the changes. BB does this too, but only if you sign up for their Stash service, and that got pretty expensive for us. Having this capability going to Google Drive is a big win.

Thanks Austin for your kind words. You have been great on giving us a lot of feedbacks.

Might be a great idea to tell people to turn Dropbox notifications off if they backup to Dropbox and have multiple computers all turned on in the same room... Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding. LOL :)

I dig their design. Very clear and minimal. Kind of reminded me of the Dropbox look & feel.
