Will You Still Need a Child Theme With WordPress 4.7?

premium.wpmudev.org | Nov. 21, 2016 | 9 min read

The question Custom CSS Editor in WP 4.7 raises is this: can WordPress users stop using child themes now that CSS customization is built right into the WordPress core?

I've heard there's a new feat on WP editor that allows us to change things in there. And that affects having a child theme. Although I'm still puzzled if that's safe or whatnot. I'm a bit excited to see the 4.7 tho

Using the Custom CSS in the customizer is kind of like using a custom CSS plugin. It's safe--nothing will be overwritten if you update your theme. But it's also limited, as the article points out.
