Sucuri vs Wordfence - Which WordPress Security Plugin should I Get?

dart-creations.com | Feb. 24, 2017 | 14 min read

There's hardly any plugin more important than a security plugin. Sucuri and Wordfence are surely two of the major contenders for the best WordPress security plugin, but which one should you choose?

Quoted from the author: "No hosting service - whoever they are can provide the level of protection as a dedicated WordPress security plugin".

Sorry, but a plugin can not offer the same level of protection that a server can do. Each one operate on a different layer of security.

Why does this post fail to mention that Wordfence scans WordPress files (core, plugins, themes) against original files in WordPress' repository for changes, which is a better method than scanning against another installation? It also scans your entire home directory and not just WordPress files, in case someone slipped a malicious file outside of the WordPress installation.
