Torque's 2017 Plugin Madness

torquemag.io | Mar. 23, 2017 | 1 min read

It's essentially March Madness for plugins, with plugins moving through the brackets in the competition. Kinda neat idea.

The comparisons don't make sense. For example, is WooCommerce or MailChimp for WordPress better? It's like comparing Apples to Oranges. It would hold much more value if it was category based – i.e e-commerce plugins were pit against each other.

I do agree with that.

Thanks for the feedback on our Plugin Madness competition. We actually do have categories (marketing, maintenance, optimization, & editorial), but after a couple rounds of brackets we usually start to see more disparate plugins being lined up against each other. So in the very first round we had WooCommerce vs WPeCommerce and All In One SEO vs YOAST SEO, but as each round ends, the match ups might seem more and more unrelated.
