This is one of the best articles I've read in a while. Excellent.

Great article by the guys at WPShout. The people who are hardcore members of the WordPress 1% community aren't the ones who need this, it's the smaller shops and solo web designers who build entirely on ThemeForest themes and cobbled together assortments of plugins. Unfortunately, in every city, a number of these small shops get clients, usually at the low end of the market.

Would be great if all people in the web development/marketing filed were honorable, but likely will never happen. The people who are on ManageWP.org, who read the Tavern and Torque, who listen to WP podcasts, and go to WordCamps and Meetups are almost always following the principles outlined by Fred Meyer in this article.
