WordPress Ugly Permalinks Will soon be forgotten with the release of version 4.2 which will automatically enable Pretty Permalinks.

On first thought--awesome! On the other hand, since that isn't the permalink structure I normally use, I'm still going to have to go and change my permalink structure among the first things I do when setting up the site. Still, it will prevent the problem one often sees of a blogger who hasn't set up pretty permalinks and is losing out on the SEO value they provide.
