Manage your WordPress Newsletters with Campaign Monitor Plugin

Plugins | wpxtre.me | Apr. 29, 2014

Since we bootstrapped wpXtreme in 2012, keeping our users up to date with the latest news was essential; after tons of tries, we ended up choosing Campaign Monitor. Why? For truth there are some very good mailing services out there (like Mailchimp and Sendgrid), but we preferred Campaign Monitor because it’s distraction free, more functional and in some cases even cheaper. Beyond this, our wpXtreme ecosystem it’s obviously based on WordPress, so why not creating a Campaign Monitor WordPress plugin?
As you may immagine, today I want to introduce you our new Campaign Monitor plugin. Play attention because it’s not only the classic widget to let your users subscribe to your Campaign Monitor lists, this Xtreme plugin is much more. Let’s start analyzing it in deep.
Clients
From the clients view you can see a synchronized list of all your clients in Campaign Monitor; usually, unless you resell this service, you only need one client.
Lists
From the lists view, you have the synchronized index of your lists; here you can see the list name, the list id, and the actual number of subscribers. Clicking on “Subscribers”, under the list name, you will have direct access to subscribers on this list.

It’s always been a super-crowded environment and picking the right solution within it it’s far from being easy. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves and see what Bannerize 1.1.0 brings with it.

WPDK Useful Shortcodes

Tutorials | wpxtre.me | Nov. 14, 2013

Hey Xtreme Devs, today I’d like to show you 2 useful and cool shortcodes available in our WPDK framework : [wpdk_is_user_logged_in] and [wpdk_is_user_not_logged_in] . In your posts, pages or custom post type you can use the following shortcodes to display a specific section of content when a user is/isn’t logged in. For instance:
This content is visible to all users
[wpdk_is_user_logged_in]
This content is visibile for users logged in
[/wpdk_is_user_logged_in]
likewise…
This content is visible to all users
[wpdk_is_user_not_logged_in]
This content is visibile for users NOT logged in
[/wpdk_is_user_not_logged_in]
With v1.3.1 release , we addressed several issues and made some improvements to [wpdk_is_user_logged_in] in order to filter a specific user type. Now you can set some special attributes to limit the range of logged-in users.
Attribute supported in 1.3.1
roles – A list of roles string, comma separated. Eg: administrator, subscriber
caps – A list of capabilities string, comma separated. Eg. read, level_0
emails – A list of emails string, comma separated. Eg. a.agima@commodore.com, c.sf@gmail.com
ids – A list of user id, comma separated. Eg. 12,13,14
Let me show you some examples:

wpXtreme 1.1.1 is Now Available And Brings You Extensions

Plugins | wpxtre.me | Nov. 4, 2013

Today is a pretty happy day for us and all of you Xtremers out there because we’re releasing wpXtreme 1.1.1 , the freshly coded version of our plugin, which introduces an exquisite new feature: Extensions . What are Extensions?
wpXtreme Extensions are plugin modules that enhance single plugins with specific features and give users a smooth buying experience, similar to the in-app purchase experience from the APP Store you may already be familiar with. To clearly understand how extensions can empower a plugin, try to imagine this: you already use CleanFix , our insanely easy-to-use plugin for keeping WordPress clean , but you aren’t backing up your database. With a single extension “attached” to CleanFix, which you’d need to download from WPX Store (soon available), you’ll be totally able to perform a full backup of your WordPress database.
Extensions are plugins’ best friends because they enrich plugins by adding new and custom features to core functionality . And Extensions tickle developers’ pockets too because they can be built on ANY plugins available on the WPX Store; that’s to say, you can extend plugins’ functionality even though you’re not the developer of those same products

Upcoming product: statistics and analytics for your banners!

Plugins | wpxtre.me | Feb. 17, 2014

Yes, you got it right! By popular demand, we are going to make available a Bannerize extension that will please many of you! (haven’t you ever heard of Bannerize? See the product details here , for a quick introduction click here ). I’m talking about analytics, a fundamental tool if you need to monitor impression and click-through rate of banners of your WordPress site .
This feature, already appreciated in the old version of Bannerize (still available on WP repository, but almost abandoned), will be revived and enriched with a series of simple and useful tools, giving you the advantage to monitor performances and stat results of your banners.
Here is a first preview of the extension, which is currently in beta testing (wanna become a wpXtreme beta tester? Learn here how to do, it’s easy).
Once installed, this extension will add a new Bannerize menu item:
From there, you will be able to monitor all your impressions in a retroactively way (if you have previously activated the swipe from the main Bannerize plugin). Cool, isn’t it?
Are you curious? Don’t worry, Analytics extension will be available very soon.
In the meanwhile, if you haven’t a wpXtreme account yet, sign-up here completely

How to Activate WordPress Maintenance Mode Allowing Specific Users to Access Your Website

Plugins | wpxtre.me | Oct. 24, 2013

If you’d wish to offer a longer life to things, you need to take care of them. And websites are no exceptions since things could get pretty messy if you don’t pay attention to them: theme updates, plugin conflicts, database errors, script annoyances, etc. Almost every webmaster should spend some of his or her time taking care of these aspects. Such users need always to log into the website and get things done while all standard users can’t access the website . Webmaster is such a single example to stress the idea that there are plenty of specific users who require to log in when others can’t. That’s where Maintenance Pro , our wpXtreme free plugin for WordPress, comes into play.
Let’s see how to easily set everything up and nice to ensure you the best maintenance experience you deserve .
How to Install Maintenance Pro
To get Maintenance Pro, you need to download our wpXtreme plugin (it’s FREE) and activate it in your WordPress installation. Once you correctly signup for a wpXtreme account (again: completely for FREE), navigate to the wpXtreme tab in your WordPress dashboard sidebar, click on the WPX Store option and download the Maintenance Pro plugin .

CTR and Impressions of your WordPress Banners with Bannerize Analytics!

Plugins | wpxtre.me | Apr. 9, 2014

Yes, you got it right! After tons of users requests and a couple of months of development and tests Bannerize Analytics is finally available! As you may just know, Bannerize is a free banner and flash video ads manager for WordPress and one of the most famous wpXtreme plugins; starting from that, we have created the Analytics extension, a perfect way to filter, monitor and export all the stats of your banners.
Ok, but what does eXtension means? In few words, wpXtreme eXtensions are modules that enhance plugins with specific features.
Let me introduce now this great new product. The first thing you wanna know, I’m sure, it’s the price; well, Bannerize Analytics costs $49 per year, with fully support and updates. Considering that Bannerize it’s a free plugin, we think that this is an awesome price.
Now lets speak about Bannerize Analytics features.
Once you have installed this extension, Analytics will add two menu items to your main Bannerize plugin: Overview and Reports.
From the first one, you will access different panels from witch you can get the main overview of your banner stats: total impressions, total clicks, CTR, together with a Summary where you can see something like a photography

CSS inline style, a great Bannerize new preference for free

Introducing the new Bannerize inline CSS Style editor

CSS inline style, a great Bannerize new preference for free

Plugins | wpxtre.me | Jan. 24, 2014

As many of you have asked over the last months, from release 1.2.0 Bannerize has a new feature panel to add a custom style sheet. Just to give you an idea, now you can set the horizontal or vertical space between banners, create a border or anything you want. In order to use this new feature you just have to go in the Preferences view and click on Layout tab.
As you can see the first thing to do is to enable the custom style sheet. After that, you can write your own CSS rules for you banners. Remember that the HTML markup is:
From release 1.2.0 we introduce the category slug in the main class container (see line 2). In this way you can set your style for your category banner. For instance, if you have two categories as Horizontal (slug horizontal) and Vertical (slug vertical) your CSS could be:
/* For horizontal category banner */
.wpx_bannerize .horizontal .wpx_bannerize_banner_box
{
margin : 0 16px ;
}
/* For vertical category banner */
.wpx_bannerize .vertical .wpx_bannerize_banner_box
{
margin : 16px 0 ;
}
The category slug is shown in the Bannerize category view.
In the list category you can see the slug used in the HTML markup:
As you can see in the image above, the category name
